“And suddenly you know: It’s time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings.” Meister Eckhart (d. 1328) Catholic Priest

“There’s a natural mystic blowing through the air. If you listen carefully now you will hear.” Bob Marley (d. 1981) Jamaican singer-songwriter

When first hearing the word “mysticism” or “mystic” our minds may conjure up images of other-worldly encounters with God, ecstatic raptures, or extraordinary events of all kinds. Given this understanding of mysticism we could hardly belief that each of us are called to be mystics; mysticism, after all, is for the “holiest of the holy” and that’s not us. But nothing could be further from the truth.  This retreat explores mysticism across religious traditions as a state of life to which each of us are called and which, in the end, fires our hearts to be the servants of God — and one another — we aspire to be.
