The annual seven-day Directed Retreat at Galilee Centre provides an environment thoughtfully designed to support reflection and spiritual development. With views of the Ottawa River—including access to a private beach—the Centre offers well-appointed facilities such as a chapel, lounge, and landscaped grounds for prayer and contemplation. Additional amenities, including a labyrinth and expansive property, encourage participants to deepen their awareness of God’s presence. The retreat is conducted in silence within a community setting, emphasizing contemplative prayer and discernment of God’s active presence in your life.

Retreat Schedule:
- Sunday, July 19 – Registration opens at 2 pm, dinner at 5:30 pm, first gathering 7 pm.
- Monday, July 20 – Friday, July 24 – Daily retreat schedule set by facilitators, including Eucharist, individual retreatant spiritual direction sessions, time for personal contemplation, and meals in silence.
- Saturday, July 25 – Morning retreat schedule, lunch, departure at 2 pm.
What to expected from a Directed Retreat
The directed retreat is a privileged time for you to deepen your relationship with God. You will be assigned a trained spiritual director with whom you will meet each day to discern the movements of God in your life as revealed through your prayer. Aside from these daily conversations and the time you set aside for your own personal prayer, your time is unstructured. The only group prayer offered is the daily Eucharistic liturgy. An atmosphere of silence is maintained in the house and on the grounds for the duration of the retreat.
