1 Corinthians 2:1-5 speaks of St. Paul’s mission to preach nothing but “Christ crucified.” Paul
believes that it is only through the Cross that the fullness of the Spirit is released to animate us in
all we do. He understands that everyday experiences – challenges and successes – contribute to
God’s saving activity in the world. “You are part of God’s plan for salvation” is what Paul is
pointing to!

But past hurts and wounds, distractions, conflicting messages, and the misinformation we live
with in a fast-paced world often block our awareness of how God’s Endless Spirit constantly
nourishes and guides us – even in our failures, shortcomings, and sin. However, our joys and
successes, intuitions, and use of our imaginations – along with our failures and crosses – are all
opportunities to experience God’s salvific presence as Endless Spirit in our lives.
But how does Endless Spirit come to us through the Cross? Briefly stated, in one moment, Cross
becomes Resurrection – becomes Transformation and Freedom – and Endless Spirit emerges
from within this paradoxical situation.

Throughout this retreat, you will reflect on your relationship with yourself, with others, with
nature, and with God to understand better what contributes to – and what blocks you from –
experiencing Endless Spirit such that you live from a profound and personal freedom that
releases you into the fullness of human flourishing.
