May 8, 2021 – 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Facilitated by: Sarah Wayne
Simply put, the spiritual life is our relationship with God. Our spiritual life evolves over our lifetime and tends to move toward a contemplative stance… the cultivation of the interior life, which is adaptable to all lifestyles and ages. The spiritual life is available to all of us and we do not need to leave where we are to develop it. Whether you are new to the contemplative journey or a seasoned practitioner, this one-day retreat will offer you 8 very accessible practices that will guide you in deepening your cooperation with God toward a simple and joyous flow of life and love.
Format: Eight mini-sessions with opportunities for self-reflection and some discussion. The retreat cost includes the book: The 8-Fold Path of a Spiritual Life by Rosemary O’Toole, CSJ. The book will be provided at the opening of the retreat.
Sarah Wayne: Sarah’s exposure to contemplative spirituality began with a course on The Spiritual Life taught by Sr. Rosemary O’Toole of the Upper Room Home of Prayer (Ottawa), about 15 years ago. That course launched her on a journey of seeking that continues still, and that never gets old. Sarah works as a self-employed accountant in Ottawa. She and her husband have a son and a daughter in their twenties, and all are currently navigating the crowded-house reality of the pandemic. Sarah is a spiritual director with The Upper Room.
Cost: $60 ( lunch not included ) held at Galilee Centre
