A significant challenge facing the world today is the failure to address questions of religion, belief and culture in our understanding of global poverty and inequality. Duncanson-Hales observes that the experience of oppression and alienation, like all experience, is filtered through interpretation and those who endure oppression and alienation, while remaining hopeful, have much to offer to our understanding of the encounter of globalization in the developing world. The cry of the poor is a lament for liberation. Join us as we explore the challenge(s) of living the Gospel of justice in partnership with a globalizing world. Chris Duncanson-Hales is a theologue and pastoral associate with St. John’s Chrysostom Parish in Arnprior, and has been teaching and learning for over 15 years. This workshop/session is being offered as part of the Spirituality & Social Justice Institute at Galilee Centre. |
