FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Galilee Centre Officially Announces Speakers for Winter/Spring Institute Programming Sessions to include CPJ and KAIROS facilitators Arnprior, ON – January 21, 2008 - Galilee Centre officially announced Friday the lineup of workshop speakers and facilitators for their upcoming Winter and Spring Sessions of the Spirituality & Social Justice Institute (SSJI). “We’re excited to have some well respected individuals and nationally recognized organizations participating in the facilitation of our upcoming programming,” said Darlene O’Leary, Executive Director, Galilee Centre. “These people have all had an impact on faith and social matters both regionally and nationally and we know that their messages and shared experiences will have a profound impact on program attendees.” The Winter/Spring Sessions will include workshops that are open to the public and include facilitators such as Dorothy McDougall of KAIROS (an ecumenical umbrella organization on faith and justice) and Chandra Pasma of Citizens for Public Justice (CPJ). The Announcement also included information about themed retreats such as the Women and Faith Weekend, to be held February 29 to March 1, which includes a Friday night lecture/discussion with Cheri DiNovo regarding Women and Faith in Public Life. Other retreats include A Spirituality of Justice For Our Time with Diamuid O’Murchu (in June), New Monasticism and the Church Today with Jonathon Wilson-Hartgrove (in July) and Following the Nonviolent Jesus: Gospel Peacemaking in the War-making World with John Dear (in August).
