Maude Barlow Visits Galilee Centre to Promote New Book

Arnprior, ON – October 19, 2007 - Galilee Centre announced today that Maude Barlow will be visiting Arnprior’s Galilee Centre on Wednesday, November 28 from 7 to 9 pm. Barlow is currently on tour to promote her new book Blue Covenant: The Global Water Crisis and the Coming Battle for the Right to Water.

"It was very exciting to learn that she would be coming," said Darlene O'Leary, Executive Director for Galilee Centre. "Maude Barlow is highly respected internationally. We hope that her presence here at Galilee will allow people in the Ottawa Valley to get informed about such an important issue.”

Maude Barlow is the National Chairperson of the Council of Canadians, Canada’s largest public advocacy organization, and the founder of the Blue Planet Project working internationally for the right to water. She serves on the boards of the International Forum on Globalization and Food and Water Watch and is a Councilor with the Hamburg-based World Future Council.

The evening will include refreshments such as coffee, tea and snacks (donations welcome) and Barlow’s book will be available for sale. Copies thereafter may also be purchased at Galilee’s satellite Librarie Saint-Paul & Canterbury House Bookstore.
